Senior Site/Construction Manager
Fernfield Homes are looking for a Senior Site/Construction Manager to join the team long term, but initially working on our Hatch Farm development in Bulphan, near Brentwood, Essex. Hatch Farm is a fantastic project with just 4 exclusive homes, designed and built to a quality specification.
We are looking to hire a confident driven individual, someone with enough experience and drive to get the job done to the standards demanded by the business, but also someone who understands that smaller projects are dynamic and can evolve as the development progresses. Someone who is competent, flexible and good at dealing with issues directly and head on.
The right candidate will be both willing and able to help steer the business as we move forward, submitting your own ideas and contributing your own experience to the management mix.
The individual we are looking for will have experience working on small but high quality developments and be someone who takes pride in delivering a bespoke high end product.

The role will consist of, but not be limited to:
• Monitoring subcontractor progress.
• Health and safety representation
- inductions
- checking subcontractor risk assessments and methods statements
- site inspections
- scaffold inspections
- completing registers
• Managing labour and operatives.
• Holding subcontractor progress meetings.
• Ensuring sufficient resources are in place throughout, while managing budgets ensuring the successful completion of the project.
• Providing regular progress updates.
• Adhering to and promoting the company values and health & safety policies.
• Ensuring site documents are completed.
You will have:
• Zero tolerance towards safety non-conformance.
• Have the highest standard of quality assurance.
• Relevant qualifications and experience as a Site Manager.
• Full understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation.
• Sound judgement and problem solving skills.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
• Strong organisational skills and be able to coordinate multiple subcontractors.
• Good level of IT literacy.
• Proven track record of projects delivered on time.
• Highly motivated and committed to the highest standards.
• Excellent eye for detail and be able to interrogate drawings to highlight any issues with design.
We are flexible, but to have the best chance of success, you will ideally:
• Come from a similar reputable contractor.
• Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Site Manager position.
• Have worked extensively on residential schemes, ideally on low volume projects.
• Have worked on projects from start to completion.
• Have experience in New Build projects.
• Have experience in liasing with clients.
• Have worked on minimum project values of £1m.
• Have Scaffold Inspection qualifications.
• Be First Aid qualified.
• Be SMSTS and CSCS certified.
